GPS Service for the Blinds
Category: Cellphone News -
The blinds today no longer need staff as the only tool to help them walking, A sophisticated GPS-based (Global Positioning System) navigation system has been introduced to facilitate the blinds in their traveling.
Easy Walk, a GPS application developed for symbian phones, was designed by an Italian developer, and has been tested by 30 members of Italian Blind Union.
This application makes use of GPS Bluetooth tools which support symbian phones. Besides that, Easy Walk is also equipped with new generation text-to-speech software.
The users simply press a certain button to listen to real-time sound informing the GPS data related to the users’ current location, including the names of buildings nearby.
Another advantage of Easy Walk is that Easy Walk is equipped with call center service which can be called anytime to help users deciding their destination. Easy Walk also has been tested in France and Swiss, with 95% accuracy as the result.
